Disability A boon Not Hindrance

Disability word itself brings a picture in our mind and creates sympathy but I feel proud to list out a few people who proved themselves many folds able than normal people so as to show and prove nothing can deter a person if a strong will is there and a desire to do something different. I have seen such people have very minute observation and it seems their normal organs work with double efficiency as if to compensate their lack. In Trichy a special school for visually challenged successfully gave 100% results in public exams isn't it worth applaud? I purchase regularly sandal products from a visually challenged person who is no less than me. In Bombay I have seen people going to office on their own and do all their jobs themselves.  Its actually in the way they are trained, instead of sympathizing we must train them in adequate manner to help make them independent and positive minded not dependent and full of complex. One day I was waiting for bus and beside me a visually c...

Creativity

Creativity in children is not always inborn but many can be creative if we support in proper ways and make them mentally comfortable..I think surroundings and the persons who are close to a child in growing age mean lot and also can do much in making a child creative. On average all the children love to play variety of games. In this way we can teach them so many brain twisting games and stimulate fast thinking and spontaneity. Word games would help in building vocabulary thus language would improve. Always we should not control their schedule or way of working out as they may have some genuine ideas and our interference may suppress their creativity. Let them do exercise of mathematics alone , let them think deep, also science, as it is, work books make learning easy but prevent efforts to learn on their own. I have seen mothers highly stressed before exams, if the children get less marks its not a big issue but how much they can do on their own matters. Initially they may face lit...

Discriminating Attitude

Often we do a mistake without realizing of identifying people under income, gender and community basis. I thought it was a practice which only a few people followed but after I married and shifted to south to a little interior area I was shocked to note that almost everybody has this habit and they feel proud in following it. Suppose a person is from a backward community or low income group certainly on its mention they would feel awkward or maybe inferior. We should rather learn to judge people from their characteristics as it would make them feel more confident and of course more close. From childhood I enjoyed reading Bharathiyar poetry and his revolutionary thoughts had great impact and influence on me and in my thoughts I pictured south as in the poetry. When I shifted to south from Bombay I just could not digest this discrimination as I myself don't believe in caste system at all. Not much freedom is given to ladies especially freedom of thoughts. They are expected to be o...

Self Education

Education means to acquire knowledge systematically. Our educational system is but not capable of producing efficient candidates from a certain period, and I think the reason is over-burdening the students with as many subjects as possible, Even parents leave little space for the young minds as if preparing for competitions, they just don't leave them free. Dance, music, abacus, handwriting, keyboard and so many to mention. Hardly children get time to learn, only attending classes can't give assurance of learning. Language learning has become so complicated just because of the practice of memorizing mechanically and running behind scoring marks. Teachers must give more attention as they hardly get time to pay attention individually. On average students, none wants to spend time, all lack patience. Syllabus completion is the biggest task but then without understanding whats the use of teaching and how at all they would learn. Writing exams and scoring marks has become the aim...
